The Route: What to Expect
The approximately 3-mile stretch (out and back) begins at the base of the bridge near Highway 98, crossing the Navarre Beach Causeway to the Gulf-side.
Elevation gain is minimal except for the 1,550-foot bridge incline, which provides a solid hill workout with rewarding views.
The sidewalks on both sides offer safe running space, though early mornings tend to be quieter with less traffic.
Scenic Highlights and Key Features
Santa Rosa Sound Views: Runners can enjoy a clear perspective of the sound and Gulf of Mexico, especially during sunrise or sunset.
Wildlife Spotting: Keep an eye out for pelicans, dolphins near the bridge, and other coastal wildlife along the way.
Navarre Beach Park Connection: Once across, runners can extend their run through Navarre Beach Marine Park, which offers softer sand trails and oceanfront paths.
Local Insights
The bridge incline can be challenging, but it's excellent for strength training. Many local runners use this stretch to improve endurance and hill-running capability.
High humidity and strong winds can affect your pace, especially in the summer months. Mornings provide cooler conditions and fewer crosswinds.
Navarre’s running community frequently organizes group runs on the causeway, particularly on weekends.
Visitor Tips
Best Times to Run: Early mornings (before 9 AM) or evenings to avoid traffic and heat.
What to Bring: Hydration belt, sun protection, and reflective gear if running after sunset.
Getting There: From Navarre Beach, take Gulf Blvd to the causeway entrance; from mainland Navarre, access via Highway 98. Approximate time: 5 minutes by car.

Navarre has a causeway with an amazing sunset every evening that lots of people who know of it knows it Florida's best kept secret hands down, best beaches for more personal space, soft white sand emerald waters to awe over, pictures that makes friends and family members think you are in a post card, seasonal birds slow down the commute for a few weeks during the late spring/early summer weeks on the causeway and national seashore between Navarre and Pensacola Beach, it's now the most relaxing place and it couldn't be more right!

It's pretty good and a nice drive. Only downside is that being a two-lane road it is a super pinch point and when it gets busy it can be a 10-15 minute drive when it's usually just 1-3 minutes. However, the bridge is built well and there are walking/biking lanes on either side which is a nice touch for pedestrians to get in/out.

Great views but heavy traffic. Bridge could be bigger though.
