Been going here for years now. Sometimes we go in the summer just because it’s close by but we mostly go for sunsets in the winter months. It’s more like a bay experience than a true beach like Clearwater but it’s free to enter and park and it’s a decent alternative if you’re in northern Pinellas county because it’s easy to access and most times easy to park. Bathrooms, a few shelters and a boat launch available for free It’s a bit small but big enough for everyone to find a spot

This beach definitely lives up to its name! We spent a few hours here. We got there early, not knowing how crowded it would get. (There were only a couple people there when we arrived.) We spent the first hour or so walking in the water, looking for shells, and catching crabs. Once the sun started setting the beach got a little crowded as people were setting up to watch the sunset and get pictures.

Visit to the Sunset Beach Park on January 17th - Weather: 64 degrees, beautiful day, not many people - Facilities: - Men’s bay out of order - Family bay available - Unusual: bottom of the bathroom doors are missing, creating a large gap Overall impression: - Beautiful place, smaller than expected - No sea shells and no waves - Suitable for those seeking calm and peace
