Adventure Guide to Surfing at St. Augustine Beach
1. St. Augustine Beach Pier
Location: 350 A1A Beach Blvd, St. Augustine Beach, FL
What Makes It Special: The pier creates consistent surf breaks, making it one of the most popular spots in the area. The waves here are reliable year-round, though they improve in the fall with northeast swells.

2. Anastasia State Park
Location: 300 Anastasia Park Rd, St. Augustine, FL
What Makes It Special: This protected shoreline offers uncrowded waves and excellent surf conditions. Sandbars help create fun, rideable waves, especially at mid to high tide.
Key Features: Entry fee required ($8 per vehicle), but the cleaner environment and fewer crowds make it worthwhile. Rentals and lessons are available through local surf schools.
3. Vilano Beach
Location: Vilano Beach, north of the St. Augustine Inlet
What Makes It Special: Known for stronger swells and faster waves, Vilano Beach is better suited to experienced surfers. The jetties cause waves to break harder and faster than at other locations.

Amazing beach, rocky sand with beautiful big waves!! Staying and looking at The Atlantic Ocean water makes you so much more relaxed!! Swimming in this water almost felt like riding a small roller coaster, especially with high waves!! All the kids had so much fun!! Restrooms, splash playground, playground!!! Personally, this is the best beach in St. Augustine!!

This beach had really soft sand, and a beautiful scenery. Soft sand is key for me. The sunrise is gorgeous, and people are nice. The beach is quiet. It’s not very packed. One of the best beach experiences I’ve had so far.

Wow such a beautiful beach.
We had a pleasant experience overall. We saw a couple of sandpipers and seagulls. The beach itself has white sand due to the source being sea shells. So come with good shoes and prepare for lots of crunching. The water did not seem to deep .
The place was not crowded when we went but we did go in 50 degree weather.
Overall 5/5 recommend to check it out if your saint augustine.
